So, an update on me fandom-wise.

I've been going through Star Trek for the first time, ever since I rewatched the '09 movie on the way back from Georgia in July and then I started reading '09 fanfic. I've since been watching The Original Series on and off for the past few months (reading along with Brittany Diamond's amazing analyzation of the Kirk/Spock pairing through the TOS series), and though I've only watched the movies up to half-way through the Final Frontier and the TOS series up to the third season, I decided to start watching The Next Generation. Mostly because my mom loves Data, and she likes TNG the best.

I've started to watch Encounter at Fairpoint, which I believe is the actual first episode of TNG.

I've gone through the episode finding it kinda boring, even though I really like Data so far and I'll admit Riker is kinda cute, but there was one point where I freaked out.

BONES MADE A CAMEO, OMG.

He's shown walking with Data, being a classic crotchety old man, calling Data "boy" and complaining about how old Data "thinks" he is (137? Damn.) and when Data explains to McCoy that he remembers everything, Bones does this adorable little check on Data's ears and says, "I don't see no points on your ears, boy, but you sound like a Vulcan."

"No, sir," replies Data, "I'm an android."

"Hmph... almost as bad."

ILU BONES YOU OLD MAN YOU. YOU NEVER CHANGE DO YOU? ♥

AND THEN. Er, and then, they start playing this really soft, nostalgic type music, and I think, "oh, NO."

"I thought it was generally accepted, sir, that Vulcans are an advanced and most honorable race," questions Data.

"Yeah, they are. And damn annoying at times." Bones is SO adorable. He says it kinda fondly, too.

"Yes, sir," says Data, clearly not understanding.

"Well, this is a new ship," Bones changes the subject, "but she's got the right name. Now you remember that, you hear?" he says to Data.

"I will, sir."

"You treat her like a lady... and she'll always bring you home."

And then the music in the background slowly fades out on them walking down one of the corridors on the Enterprise, and the scene cuts out.

I. STARTED. TO. CRY.

wtf, self? I managed to NOT cry when Spock DIED at the end of The Wrath of Khan (though when Kirk's voice broke at the funeral I almost did), and though I've always found Spock Prime in the '09 movie to be one of the most tragic characters EVER, I've never actually CRIED during any of his scenes.

BUT THIS SCENE. FOR SOME REASON. KILLED ME.

It's just....

GAH!

BOOOOONES! ♥ ;______;

But, yeah. Anyway, I started college, which is so much better than high school it's almost ridiculous. I've been taking Chemistry 100, English 101, College Algebra, and Digital Imaging. Chem is by far my favorite class cause it's the only class I have on Mondays and Wednesdays and the other three are all bunched together on Tuesdays and Thursdays.
